Research Assistant
We are seeking applicants for a full-time Research Assistant position in the Speech and Brain Research Laboratory (https://sites.google.com/a/asu.edu/sbr-lab/home). Our lab is part of the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at Arizona State University.

We investigate neural mechanisms underlying normal speech production and stuttering. Our research lies at the intersection of Speech Science, Neuroscience, and Engineering. Our studies examine the relationship between speech and brain in individual who stutter and those who do not stutter. To answer questions related to this relationship, we use kinematic and acoustic measurements of speech in combination with electrophysiological recordings and stimulations (EEG, tCS) and neuroimaging techniques (fMRI, DTI).

Responsibilities of the Research Assistant will include (1) administrative management of the lab, (2) preparation and management of institutional review board (IRB) protocols, (3) advertisement and participant recruitment, (4) conducting behavioral, electrophysiological, and neuroimaging protocols.

Requirements include (1) proficiency in English, (2) a minimum of a bachelor-level degree (e.g., BA-BS or MA-MS in communication sciences and disorders, neuroscience, psychology, linguistics, or a related field), (3) strong interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively recruit and work with human subjects (children and adults). Preference will be given to applicants who are familiar with Linux environment, programing (Matlab, R, Python, etc.), or EEG/fMRI analyses.

The initial appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The preferred starting date is February 1st, 2017, but later dates are negotiable. If interested, please send your CV and a description of your research interests and future goals along with contact information for two references to Dr. Ayoub Daliri (adaliri@asu.edu).
